Deputy Representative Operations

About the role

The Deputy Representative Operations will act as a strategic business partner to the Head of Office, providing leadership and operational oversight across all functional areas. This senior position supports UNICEF’s mission in Guinea‑Bissau by ensuring efficient delivery of programmes and services for children.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate the office’s operational functions, including budget, finance, procurement, logistics, ICT, facilities, and security.
• Act as Officer in Charge during the Head of Office’s absence, ensuring continuity of leadership.
• Provide risk‑informed, solution‑focused analysis and advice to senior management.
• Represent the organization on the Country and Senior Management Teams, contributing to governance and risk management.
• Drive change initiatives and promote a unified vision among functional teams.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in managing multi‑disciplinary operational functions within an international development or humanitarian context.
• Proven ability to advise senior leaders and influence decision‑making.
• Strong analytical skills with a focus on risk management and results‑orientation.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑engagement capabilities.
