Senior Supply Chain Associate

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is seeking a Senior Supply Chain Associate to support its Supply Chain Officer in delivering quality goods and services to beneficiaries. Working under the supervision of the Chief of Mission or Head of Office, the role focuses on efficient procurement, supplier management and ensuring timely delivery of items.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate procurement activities, including reviewing purchase requests, organizing and evaluating bidding processes, and monitoring purchase orders through delivery and payment.
• Assist supervisors with complex, high‑value purchases and contribute to the development of procurement plans that maximize purchasing power.
• Participate in negotiations of terms and conditions, and help resolve delivery issues with suppliers.
• Provide technical guidance to staff on preparing specifications, procurement instructions and procedures.
• Support the continuous improvement of procurement systems, suggest risk‑mitigation measures and update procedures.
• Identify and evaluate local and international suppliers based on quality, price, reliability and the organization’s best interests.

Required profile

• Proven experience in procurement or supply‑chain activities, preferably in an international or humanitarian context.
• Ability to work under supervision of senior staff and collaborate with cross‑functional teams.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills to manage multiple purchase orders and supplier relationships.
• Excellent communication skills for negotiating with vendors and advising internal requisitioners.
