Space Applications Expert – Earth Observation & Copernicus

About the role

NTU International is seeking a highly qualified Space Applications Expert to support the Africa‑EU Space Partnership Programme (AESPP Boost). The expert will lead the development, deployment and uptake of Earth Observation services and applications, with a focus on Copernicus data, to address climate, environmental and development challenges across Africa.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver Earth Observation services and applications using Copernicus data and products.
• Support project partners in early‑warning, climate monitoring, agriculture, water management and biodiversity initiatives.
• Facilitate knowledge exchange and capacity building with African institutions and stakeholders.
• Provide technical guidance on geospatial data integration, processing and visualization.
• Contribute to project reporting, policy dialogue and the promotion of private‑sector engagement.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in geomatics, remote sensing, environmental science, meteorology, engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 8 years of professional experience in Earth Observation, geospatial services or climate/environmental services.
• At least 4 years of experience designing or delivering EO services, preferably with Copernicus data, in sectors such as early warning, climate, environment, agriculture, water or biodiversity.
• Experience working with African institutions or facilitating user uptake is an asset.
• Excellent command of English; working knowledge of French or Portuguese is a plus.
