Deputy Representative Operations

About the role

The Deputy Representative Operations will act as the strategic business partner to the Head of Office, supporting UNICEF’s mission in Guinea‑Bissau by ensuring effective and efficient delivery of operational services. This senior position provides risk‑informed analysis, drives change, and contributes to programme and management decisions that improve outcomes for children.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Head of Office in managing the country office and act as Officer in Charge when required.
• Coordinate and oversee core support functions including budget, financial management and reporting, facilities, administration, supply and logistics, information and communications technology, and safety and security.
• Represent operational risk and governance issues in senior management and country team meetings.
• Lead the development and implementation of unified operational strategies across functional areas.
• Provide solution‑focused analysis and advice to senior leadership to achieve results for children.

Required profile

• Senior professional with extensive experience in humanitarian or development operations management.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and act as a trusted advisor to senior executives.
• Strong analytical skills with a focus on risk‑informed decision making.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
