Document Analyst – Remote (Worldwide)

About the role

The Document Analyst will remotely review, verify and analyse a wide range of documents – from government IDs to financial statements – to ensure their accuracy, authenticity and regulatory compliance. You will work closely with policy, product and machine‑learning teams to improve document‑processing workflows and help prevent fraud.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse and validate data extracted from various document types, ensuring fields such as name, date and document number are correct.
• Detect sophisticated fraud attempts, including photoshopped IDs, counterfeit documents and deep‑fake verification challenges.
• Apply forensic techniques to examine security features like holograms, watermarks and micro‑print.
• Handle edge cases involving damaged, non‑standard or foreign‑jurisdiction documents.
• Collaborate with policy and product teams to create and refine annotation guidelines for global document diversity.
• Provide feedback to ML engineers on model performance and contribute to “golden datasets”.
• Perform quality checks on annotations and ensure high inter‑annotator agreement.
• Maintain compliance with KYC, AML, GDPR, eIDAS and other relevant regulations.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience in document analysis, identity verification, KYC/AML operations or data extraction.
• Deep knowledge of global identity, financial and legal documents.
• Proven ability to identify advanced document fraud and manipulation techniques.
• Familiarity with regulatory frameworks such as GDPR, CCPA, KYC and AML.

Required skills

• Experience with OCR software and document verification tools.
• Use of annotation platforms for data labeling.
• Working with structured data formats: JSON, XML, CSV.
