Risk Analyst – Remote (Worldwide)

About the role

The Risk Analyst will identify, assess, and mitigate operational, financial, regulatory, and reputational risks that could affect our performance. Working remotely, you will analyze large datasets, design detection models, and collaborate with cross‑functional teams to protect the platform and its users.

Key responsibilities

• Proactively monitor platform data to spot emerging risks such as payment fraud, account takeovers, spam, phishing, and synthetic identity networks.
• Query large datasets using SQL, Python, or similar tools to uncover attack vectors and quantify abusive behavior.
• Design and implement rules, models, and workflows that detect and prevent fraudulent activity while minimizing friction for legitimate users.
• Partner with Engineering, Product, Finance, and Legal to embed risk controls throughout the product lifecycle and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Act as a primary responder during high‑impact risk events, making rapid decisions to contain losses.
• Build dashboards and reports to track key risk indicators and communicate findings to leadership.
• Provide feedback on internal risk tools and collaborate on improving detection automation.
• Assist in evaluating third‑party risk intelligence vendors.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of experience in risk analysis, fraud intelligence, trust & safety analytics, or financial crime investigations within tech, e‑commerce, or fintech.
• Strong ability to translate raw data into actionable insights and present findings to non‑technical stakeholders.
• Familiarity with global compliance frameworks such as AML, KYC, GDPR, or PSD2.
• Proactive curiosity and capacity to lead cross‑functional initiatives in a fast‑paced environment.
