Programme Associate – Vulnerability Analysis & Monitoring

About the role

The Programme Associate will support the Vulnerability Analysis and Mapping (VAM) and Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) functions of the World Food Programme in Guinea‑Bissau. Working within the VAM‑RAMD unit, the incumbent will contribute to evidence‑based programming aligned with the Country Strategic Plan 2023‑2027.

Key responsibilities

• Collect, analyse and visualise data to produce timely vulnerability assessments and mapping products.
• Support the design, implementation and reporting of M&E activities for WFP programmes.
• Ensure data quality and consistency across VAM and M&E outputs.
• Prepare analytical briefs, dashboards and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
• Collaborate with partners, government agencies and field teams to integrate evidence into programme planning.
• Contribute to the development of tools, methodologies and best practices for VAM and M&E.

Required profile

• University degree in social sciences, statistics, development studies, economics or a related field.
• Relevant experience in humanitarian data analysis, vulnerability assessments or monitoring & evaluation.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret complex data sets.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Ability to work in a multicultural team and adapt to a dynamic field environment.
