Regional Regulatory Affairs & Compliance Specialist (West Africa)

About the role

Optasia is seeking an enthusiastic Regional Regulatory Affairs & Compliance Specialist to support its fintech platform across West Africa. You will act as the first line of defense, helping the company navigate regulatory changes and maintain a strong compliance culture.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the primary contact with regulators to manage and mitigate impacts of new regulations, reporting obligations, and prudential guidelines.
• Drive horizon‑scanning activities and early‑warning signals for upcoming regulatory changes, and disseminate information to relevant teams.
• Support the Head of Regulatory Affairs & Compliance and Regional Compliance Managers in strategy implementation.
• Monitor company compliance with laws, regulations, and reporting obligations within the regional portfolio.
• Conduct structured assessments of regulatory compliance and risk exposure.
• Help implement a robust compliance governance framework, including training and awareness programs.
• Develop marketing materials, training programs, and internal presentations aligned with regulatory guidelines.
• Perform general administrative duties related to regulatory compliance.
