Senior AI / Digital Transformation Expert

About the role

NTU International is seeking a Senior AI / Digital Transformation Expert to lead the digital transformation component of an EU‑funded technical assistance project for ECOWAS transport governance. The role will focus on integrating artificial intelligence and smart digital solutions into transport, logistics and infrastructure systems across West Africa.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement digital transformation strategies and smart transport governance solutions.
• Provide technical assistance for AI integration, digital platforms, smart monitoring and data‑driven decision‑making tools.
• Design AI‑enabled monitoring tools, predictive analytics systems and digital decision‑support platforms.
• Advise on automation, digital interoperability, data governance and innovation frameworks for transport governance.
• Support digitalisation of corridor monitoring, customs, road safety, transport observatories and infrastructure management.
• Prepare technical specifications, innovation roadmaps and operational guidelines.
• Deliver workshops, training and capacity‑building activities on AI applications in transport.
• Coordinate with ECOWAS institutions, ICT providers, transport agencies and development partners.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Information Systems, Digital Innovation, Data Science or a related field.
• Minimum 10 years of professional experience in digital transformation, AI or smart infrastructure systems.
• At least 7 years of experience in digital transformation, AI systems or smart governance platforms, preferably in developing countries and Sub‑Saharan Africa.
• Experience with international development cooperation and donor‑funded programmes.
