Senior Backend Engineer – Elixir

About the role

Remote is looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to help build and scale its HR platform. You will work on a fully remote, cross‑functional team, designing and delivering APIs, tools, and integrations that enable companies to hire, pay, and manage international employees.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Elixir and Phoenix.
• Build and optimise PostgreSQL data models and queries.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines and automated deployments on AWS via GitLab.
• Collaborate with frontend, SRE, and QA engineers to deliver end‑to‑end features.
• Contribute to automation and AI‑driven workflows that improve product functionality.

Required profile

• Strong engineering fundamentals with a proven track record of shipping secure, reliable, and scalable production systems.
• Experience designing or adopting automation/agentic workflows and iterating on them.
• Ability to think critically about architecture, observability, and domain boundaries.
