Short-term Field Data Collector (FWDC) – Guinea-Bissau

About the role

We are seeking proactive Field Work Data Collectors (FWDCs) for a short‑term consultancy of approximately three months in Guinea‑Bissau. You will support a multi‑country study on gender‑based violence and sexual and reproductive health by gathering high‑quality data directly from hospitals and health facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Visit assigned hospitals, health or medical facilities to conduct on‑site data collection.
• Interview facility management to understand administrative processes and challenges.
• Interview facility staff to capture operational procedures and service delivery insights.
• Inspect and catalogue medical equipment present at each facility.
• Interview patients affected by gender‑based violence or sexual and reproductive health issues, recording their experiences.
• Enter all collected information into the provided online data‑collection system in real time.
• Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to ethical guidelines for sensitive interviews.
• Translate responses into English when interviews are conducted in other languages.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in public health, nursing, or a related medical/health field.
• Previous experience in gender‑based violence, sexual and reproductive health field research or data collection.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
• Professional handling of sensitive information with confidentiality.
• Demonstrated sensitivity when interviewing vulnerable patients.
