Agency Manager (Portuguese Speaking)

About the role

The Agency Manager will lead the Guinea‑Bissau office, ensuring high standards of customer service, operational efficiency and financial performance. This role combines operational oversight of vessel port calls with commercial development to grow the agency’s presence in the shipping and logistics sector.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily agency operations, including vessel port calls, coordination with local authorities and stakeholders, and timely completion of all agency activities.
• Drive business growth by strengthening existing client relationships, identifying new opportunities and expanding market presence.
• Manage budgeting, financial planning, cost control and profitability of the branch.
• Lead and develop the local team, set performance expectations and foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
• Ensure compliance with local regulations, company standards and industry best practices.

Required profile

• Proven management experience in maritime, shipping, port services or freight forwarding.
• Solid understanding of port operations and commercial shipping practices.
• Fluency in Portuguese and strong written and spoken English.
• Excellent communication, leadership, financial management and relationship‑building abilities.
• Ability to work independently, adapt to a dynamic environment and represent the business professionally.
