Driver (Local Recruitment) – Bissau

About the role

The World Bank is seeking a reliable driver to support its operations in Bissau, Guinea‑Bissau. The role involves transporting staff, visitors and equipment safely across the country while ensuring the vehicle is well‑maintained and operational at all times.

Key responsibilities

• Provide safe and punctual transportation for World Bank personnel and guests.
• Maintain the assigned vehicle, performing routine checks, cleaning and minor repairs.
• Plan routes, monitor traffic conditions and adapt to changing road situations.
• Ensure compliance with all local traffic regulations and World Bank safety policies.
• Assist with loading and unloading of equipment and documents as needed.

Required profile

• Valid driver’s license appropriate for the vehicle class.
• Proven experience driving in West African environments.
• Fluency in Portuguese and English.
• Ability to work in a dynamic, sometimes fragile‑state context.
