Excel Specialist – Remote Data Operations

About the role

We are looking for an analytical Excel Specialist to lead our data operations remotely. You will collaborate with finance, marketing and operations teams across Africa, building advanced spreadsheet tools, automated dashboards and interactive templates that turn raw data into actionable business intelligence.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain complex, scalable Excel workbooks, pivot tables and interactive dashboards.
• Write and maintain VBA scripts and macros to automate data entry, extraction and report generation.
• Clean, validate and merge large datasets from multiple sources using Power Query and advanced lookup formulas.
• Build dynamic forecasting, budgeting and performance tracking models for senior management.
• Audit and troubleshoot existing Excel files to resolve formula errors and data mapping issues.
• Translate technical data insights into clear visual formats and train cross‑functional remote teams on using the reporting templates.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Computer Science or a related field.
• 3–5 years of professional experience in data analysis, spreadsheet management or financial modeling.
• Proven ability to work independently in a remote environment and manage deadlines across African time zones.
• Strong problem‑solving, attention to detail and excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft Excel (formulas, XLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, Pivot Tables, Power Pivot, Power Query).
• VBA macro development and custom scripting.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Power BI and SQL databases.
