Finance and Management Services Officer (National Professional Officer)

About the role

The World Food Programme is seeking a Finance and Management Services Officer at National Professional Officer level (A) to support its operations in Bissau, Guinea‑Bissau. The officer will contribute to the implementation of the “Hora Tchiga” strategy and to WFP’s core programmes, including emergency response, nutrition, school feeding and smallholder farmer support.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and monitor the financial transactions of WFP programmes in Guinea‑Bissau, ensuring compliance with UN and WFP financial rules.
• Prepare and analyse budgets, forecasts and financial reports for senior management and donors.
• Coordinate procurement and payment processes, verifying documentation and supporting timely disbursements.
• Provide financial guidance to programme teams, assisting with cost‑control and resource allocation.
• Support internal and external audits, and implement corrective actions as required.

Required profile

• University degree in finance, accounting, economics or a related field.
• Relevant professional experience in financial management, preferably within humanitarian or UN‑type organisations.
• Knowledge of UN financial regulations and donor reporting requirements.
• Strong analytical abilities and attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment and under tight deadlines.
